WP Sync can connect to a Referly affiliate program (referly.so). The Referly connection is part of the WP Sync Connect Pack (version 1.0.81 or newer, with WP Sync 1.0.140 or newer). It works as a source and as a destination.
What the customer needs: Referly’s API and webhooks are only on Referly’s Business plan (or Agency). On a lower plan Referly refuses the connection with “User does not have API access”. That is a Referly plan limit, not a WP Sync problem.
Setup, on the Referly card in WP Sync (Connections tab):
1. In Referly open the program, then Settings, Advanced, API Keys. Generate a key and paste it on the card.
2. In Referly, under Advanced, open Webhooks, click New Endpoint, paste the Webhook URL shown on the WP Sync card, tick all fifteen events, and create it.
3. Open the endpoint (View Details), copy the Signing Secret (starts with whsec_) and paste it on the card. Save.
4. Optional check: Send Test Event in Referly, then Test Connection in WP Sync. Test events are confirmed but never run a sync, so no fake people reach a list.
Most common use, approved affiliates onto an email list: make a sync with Referly as the source, trigger “When: Affiliate approved”, and the email app and list as the destination (AWeber, Mailchimp, beehiiv, ResultsAiX Mailer and the rest). It fires once per affiliate, whether the program approves automatically or the owner approves by hand. Later edits and repeat notifications never send them again, so a welcome sequence never restarts. To remove people, add a second sync on “When: Affiliate deleted” (or deactivated / banned) with the Unsubscribe action.
Existing affiliates: WP Sync reads them once on connect so they are not mistaken for new approvals. To add them to a list, click Backfill on the approved sync.
Other triggers: affiliate signed up, pending, declined, deactivated, banned, made active again, deleted, details changed; affiliate first sale, every commission, commission paid out; new referred customer, customer changed or deleted; sale, sale changed, sale refunded; promo code issued, edited or deleted; coupon created, changed or deleted (coupons have no person, so they suit Google Sheets, Slack or webhooks).
As a destination (pick the action on the step): create an affiliate (approved or pending), update one, approve or set back to pending, add an extra referral link, issue a promo code from a coupon, record a referred customer, record a sale, mark a sale refunded, delete a referred customer, delete an affiliate. Deleting an affiliate in Referly also deletes their links, referrals, sales and commissions. Recording a sale uses the order id so a sale is never counted twice; a buyer who was not referred simply records nothing. Do not record sales this way for a checkout Referly already tracks with its own integration (for example its Stripe app), or sales would be reported twice.
If AWeber will not re-add someone: AWeber does not let anyone re-subscribe a person who unsubscribed themselves, through any tool. That is AWeber’s rule.
